Sani Welfare Foundation is an NGO based out of Hyderabad, India that has been consistently working since October 2012 to feed hungry stomachs.
The Foundation has been providing free mid-day meals to the less-privileged members of our society. All are welcome to partake the free meals irrespective of their religion, gender, race, caste, orientation etc.
It is considered as the Mecca and the Mandir by many who are in abject poverty and challenging life situations. It is the last straw of hope for those who have lost everything and are beginning to save every penny to rebuild their lives.
Each Day – Sani Welfare Foundation feeds ~ 1,000 to 1,500 people from Below the Poverty Line families at 8 centres spread across 6 cities in India – Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Raichur, Cuttack, Tandur and Bhubaneshwar.
Free meals are distributed at strategic locations in each city – usually outside Government Hospitals – where family members of poor patients wait in hunger. In most cases – such family members of the patient do not have sufficient money to even buy medicines and hence they skip meals for the treatment of their loved ones.
This is where Sani Foundation becomes a source of strength, literally and figuratively. It provides a healing touch and a pillar of support to those in need.
Over 1 million free meals have been served by Sani Welfare Foundation over the last 8 years.
This journey has been possible with the support of a wide network of volunteers – who partner with the Foundation in spreading the good work. The volunteers are from different walks of life and from different professional backgrounds –engineers, scientists, sales professionals, software professionals, digital marketing professionals, chartered accountants etc.
The Foundation runs mostly by cash and kind donations made by individuals and a few companies. Below is a graphical representation of the expense breakup of the foundation.
Our vision is to eradicate hunger from the society by making food available with dignity to every hungry stomach without any discrimination.
Our mission is to provide free meals to at least 10000 people per day across 50 cities of India through a sustainable network of dedicated volunteers.
