Sani Welfare Foundation

Projects

Sani Welfare Foundation began with the ‘Do Roti’ campaign, providing free meals to as many hungry underprivileged people as possible. What started as a self-funded effort now runs on donations in kind and cash to reach hundreds each day with nutritious food.

Today the campaign feeds 500–600 people each day at 6 Hyderabad sites. In stronger years we served 1,000–1,500 meals daily across multiple states. With further funds and volunteer support, the foundation aims to serve at least 10,000 people daily across 50 cities and towns of India, with a focus on less developed states including Odisha, Bihar, UP, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, and West Bengal.

Sani Welfare Foundation runs an evening clinic in Hyderabad for those with common ailments who need medical treatment but cannot afford it. A senior experienced lady doctor, a gold medalist who also serves government hospitals, sees patients from 7.30 pm to 10 pm.

The foundation procures good quality generic drugs at discounted rates and provides free medicines to poor patients. Around 180,000 patients have received free treatment and medicines at the Sani Charity clinic over the last 6 years.

The Foundation runs a livelihood program to empower women from economically backward areas by imparting vocational training. A tailoring training center in Assam teaches women to stitch clothes and earn a living.

Over the last 3 years, ~1,300 women have trained at the center. The program has increased self-confidence among participants and contributed to gender equality.

India has deep internet penetration, with over 500 million smartphone users. Mobile repair is a practical skill for young people entering the workforce.

Sani Welfare Foundation helps students secure internships in mobile repair shops so they can upskill, earn while they learn, and build a livelihood.
